The beauty of gray

We tend to see the world as made up of absolutes, in categories of black or white, good or evil, beautiful or ugly and so on. Is the world that simple or do we need to get better at seeing different perspectives? Truly try to gain a better understanding of the other, whatever or whoever the other is?
I sometimes wish I had the ability to express my thoughts in writing and be able to inspire others like I often am inspired. Since I'm not that good at it I'll share the words that inspire me instead. Today I offer two things: a quote from the tv-series Angel and one of my favorite Live songs - The beauty of gray. To me, these two ways of expresssing the same idea is worth keeping in mind and I struggle to do just that.

The qoute:
”Funny thing about black and white. You mix it together and you get grey. And it doesn't matter how much white you try and put back in, you're never gonna get anything but grey

And the song:
This is not a black and white world
To be alive
I say the colors must swirl
And I believe
That maybe today
We will all get to appreciate

The beauty of gray
